The A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children's Center, built to replace the Hillcrest Receiving Home, is a 24-hour facility operated by the County of San Diego for the temporary shelter of children who:
The A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children's Center, built to replace the Hillcrest Receiving Home, is a 24-hour facility operated by the County of San Diego for the temporary shelter of children who:
- have been separated from their families for their own safety
- are neglected; or
- whose parents are unable to provide for them.
GOALS
FACILITY The campus includes si residential cottages, an infant nursery, medical clinic, school, library, cafeteria, gymnasium, two swimming pools, two playgrounds and a baseball field. |
ANNUAL POPULATION
Approximately 2,500-3,000 children DAILY POPULATION 60-90 children DONATIONS Donations are used to enhance and enrich the lives of all resident children during their stay at Polinsky Children's Center by means of special programs, education, recreation and cultural activities, personal case supplies, and clothing. |
